To use BIG HAIR to give your hair some waves, use when your hair is clean and dry. Don't spritz salt spray on the top layer of your hair only. To get the full effect of a salt spray, like ours, you'll need to work it into sections. Create a middle part and then lift sections of your hair, spritzing the spray simultaneously while shaking the bottle in between spritzes throughout it as the hair falls, so that you reach the strands underneath, along with the surface layer of your hair. The reason for shaking the bottle is because our product does not contain chemicals for the ingredients to stay bonded together. Some of the moisturizing oils will separate from the water. Avoid spraying directly to your roots. Aiming it just at the roots can weigh hair down
